1.1 School Profile
School name : Senior High School Affairs
University of Northern Philippines.
School address : Tamag, Vigan City.
School’s vision : The school aims to produce globally
competitive and pro-active professionals through excelent instruction,
Research, Extnsion, and Production.
The university of northern philippines
(UNP) has Senior High School, the name of senior high school is “Senior High
School Affairs University of Northern Philippines”, Located in Barangay Tamag,
in the City of Vigan in the Province of Ilocoss sur, Philippines. The building
of senior high school arround of university of northern philippines.
Senior High School UNP
has 4 Program, Such us HUMSS (Human Science), ABM (Accountancy, Bussiness and
Management), STEM (Science, Technology, Enginering and Math) and GAS (General
Academic Strand). The
university began as the Vigan High School (present-day Ilocos Sur National High
School) in 1906. Its shop department was converted into a separate intermediate
level school, named the Vigan Trade School in 1910. It opened its high school
in 1927 and produced its first graduates in 1931, when it evolved as the Ilocos
Sur Trade School. They were both in Vigan town. Two of the buildings still
exist: one being used as a warehouse for a construction supply firm, the other
is the location of the Vigan City Trade Center.
President Manuel Luis Quezon converted
the Ilocos Sur Trade School in 1941 through the help of Assemblyman Benito T.
Soliven and Governor Pedro Singson Reyes. However, World War II halted its implementation.
In 1951 the Ilocos Sur Trade School
became the Northern Luzon School of Arts and Trades (NLSAT) by virtue of
Republic Act 547. However, Republic Act 2700, or the General Appropriations Act
of 1960, converted it back to Ilocos Sur School of Arts and Trades (ISSAT).
Under the administration of University
President Gilbert R. Arce, an unprecedented sweeping wave of reforms led to
various successes in the local, national, and even international scenes. During
this period, amidst organizational reforms (including the shifting of the
opening of the school year to the month of August—the first to do so in Ilocos Sur)
and infrastructure changes, but the building still needed recontruction.

Academic
Support System
In the Senior High School they go to great
lengths to make sure that each student has every opportunity to succeed. Student
who are experiencing academic difficulty, they should meet with their teacher
to discuss about their problem.
In that school also have the teacher
office, the place near with administration building. So that the student could
sharing each other and etc.
1.3
Teaching
System
In general, teaching system in University of Northern
Philippines focuses of the
curriculum, the transmission of factual and procedural knowledge. The students
should be active in every classes. Before the teacher begin the new lesson,
they should review about the last topic. The teacher teach about the subject
and then the students could answer about the teacher question. It’s make the
interaction between the teacher and the students. In the last meeting, the
teacher give evaluation to the students and monitoring the students when they
did their work.
1.4
Materials
and Other Learning Sources
The senior high school affairs university of
northern philippines has 2 school building include the classroom, computer
laboratories, hall, auditorium, Photocopying room, science laboratory such us
(Chemistry Laboratory), and teacher office. The school also has the yard of the
ceremony or celebrating something. All classroom has the iron, and electrical.
But the school only has limited LCD, not available in every class room.
1.5
Measurement
and Evaluation System
Teacher evaluations in Senior High
School Affairs, all teacher are given an SPM score based. The teacher give
evaluations for the students and then the score in every question is 1. The
teacher calculated all the evaluation
and the school receives a prorated score that
incorporates data from the teacher. In the last of
semester, the school give them a reward.
1.6
Curriculum
Senior High School Affairs of
University of Northern Philippines is using K12 curriculum. which provide sufficient time for mastery
concepts and skills, develop lifelong learners, and prepare graduates for
tertiary education, middle-level skills development, employment, and
enterpreneurship.
1.7
Teaching
Plan
In chemistry education (physical science)
major, well-planned lessons or teaching plan include student activity and
worksheet focused on the conceptual learning
goal. (Semi-details about teaching plan).
2. Pedagogical Contents
1.1 Teaching
Methods
In The Demonstration School of
University of Northern Philippines, for the teaching methods the teacher uses
expository method and sometimes the teacher uses Discovery Learning and make
the student more excited to find something new and also the teacher gave some
explanation and gave the students some exercises to be done.
1.2
Learning
Materials and Inovation
The teacher have
already prepare the lesson and the materials it will make them teaching and
explain the lesson easily and clearly. Sometimes the teacher uses games
motivation like “Boat is Sinkink” to make the student active when learn the
subject. The teacher also tells the story and then combine the subject with
their traditional culture it will make the subject more better and can make the
situation more funny and better. And the most important that the teacher talks
loudly to make the students hear their voice. They can manage the class easily.
1.3
Sources
of Learning and Technology
Sources of learning is the text book. The book is depent to the university. In Physical Science Subject they uses Karen Santiago
and Angelina A. Silverip for their text book and also sometimes we
used power point presentation from the internet connection.
1.4
Authentic
Assessment
For the
assessment, the teacher uses write assessment assessment
consist of choose an answer
such as multiple choice, supplying
answers and description.

THE MATERIALS
At this point we are ready to explore the three dimensional
structure of simple molecular (covalent) compounds and polyatomic ions. We will
use a model called the Valence Shell Electron-Pair Repulsion (VSEPR) model that
is based on the repulsive behavior of electron-pairs. This model is fairly
powerful in its predictive capacity. To use the model we will have to memorize
a collection of information.
The table below contains several columns. We already have a
concept of bonding pair of electrons and non-bonding pairs of electrons.
Bonding pairs of electrons are those electrons shared by the central atom and
any atom to which it is bonded. Non-bonding pairs of electrons are those pairs
of electrons on an individual atom that are not shared with another atom. In
the table below the term bonding groups/domains (second from the left column)
is used in the column for the bonding pair of electrons. Groups is a more
generic term. Group is used when a central atom has two terminal atoms bonded
by single bonds and a terminal atom bonded with two pairs of electrons (a
double bond). In this case there are three groups of electrons around the
central atom and the molecualr geometry of the molecule is defined accordingly.
The term electron-pair geometry is the name of the geometry of the
electron-pair/groups/domains on the central atom, whether they are bonding or
non-bonding. Molecular geometry is the name of the geometry used to describe
the shape of a molecule. The electron-pair geometry provides a guide to the
bond angles of between a terminal-central-terminal atom in a compound. The
molecular geometry is the shape of the molecule. So when asked to describe the
shape of a molecule we must respond with a molecular geometry. If asked for the
electron-pair geometry on the central atom we must respond with the
electron-pair geometry. Notice that there are several examples with the same
electron-pair geometry, but different molecular geometries. You should note
that to determine the shape (molecular geometry) of a molecule you must write
the Lewis structure and determine the number of bonding groups of electrons and
the number of non-bonding pairs of electrons on the central atom, then use the
associated name for that shape.

Observation on Teacher(s)
1.1
Planning for Teaching
The process of making a lesson plan by teacher made through a manual
system. Before entering the learning process, the teachers are required to make
a lesson plan.
1.2 Preparing lessons and materials
The teacher
have already prepare the lesson and the materials to explain the lesson easily
and clearly. Senior High
School Affairs University of northern philippines has limited LCD so before
teaching we should prepared the Projector first.
1.3 Teaching in
class
The teacher used expository method or
discussion and discovery learning when she taught the students in the
class. The teacher gave some explanation and mix it with games.
2
Measurement and
Evaluation
The
teacher gave individual test for the students in the end of the lesson on that
day.
5. Teaching
practice
1.1
Procedure
of Teaching
For the teaching procedure, it was same
like my lesson plan such as introduction, review about the previous topic, main
activities and closing. I taught ABM A, HUMSS A, and HUMSS B about chapter 2
such us a periodic table (include structur lewis, electron distribution, and
quantum numbers) and chapter 3 (include ionic bonding and molecular geometry). I had rule for my class, if the students could answer my question, i will give them point and in
the last of meeting i will give the reward for them.
I
explain the material through the power point, I ask the students to answer the
question on the board. Three students answered correctly the question. I formed them to the 4 group and i give
them the subtopic and they should discuss each other. After 5 minutes one of
them presentation in front of the class and in the last meeting i will give
reward for the best group. The students could understand my lesson. I gave them individual
test, and they could answer the
questions correctly, they were so awesome.
1.1
Time
management and organizing activities
I taught 22 hours include the final
demo. Sometimes when teaching i spent more time, 2 hours is not enough for me
to teach all of lesson, because in every meeting i should teach them 2
subtopic, and mentor always stop me while teaching. But sometimes i did it
well. I taught 7 subtopic in every meeting.
When the situation in the class
unconditional, i always make the situation
more be efective and gave them like a joke, and then after they saw me i
continue the lesson. It will make the students more enjoy while study.
1.1
Problem
Solving
When teaching students sometimes the
students are noisy in the classroom and it is a problem that often occurs in
the classroom. I make the situation calm down by not angry with them and asking
them what's wrong with them. when they told me, I solved the problem wisely. the
second problem, sometimes I have different accent to talk with them. then
during the course of my learning I keep asking them if my accent is not
understood they can be asked and they can understand the lesson well.
1.4 The challenges of practicum
My
challenge during teaching in one of the classes I taught was ABM A, the class
included one of the best classes in that school. when I had to teach my
material i felt a little scared because they had understood the lesson before. The
students are very diligent and I am afraid did a mistake while taught them.
In the
real fact, i’m wrong with my feeling, when i gave them final evaluation, 80% of
the understood the material that i teach and successfully answer all the
question that i gave to them before. I feel so amazing! J
1.2
Overal
Impression
I love philippines expecially Vigan
City, i found so many festival like longganisa festival, and etc. The people of
the philippines are so friendly always help us when i can’t do something. I went to many place such us Vigan Herritage Village, Bantay Bell Tower, Centrall mall, JTC mall, Baluarte Zoo Park etc.
All of mentor are friendly, they're very welcome and show us the culture of the philippines. I love ma'am rin, ma'am christa, ma'am jane, sir christian, sir david, ma'am jenny, ma'am helen, ma'am dygna.. i can't said it one by one.
After i did a final demo, mr jimmy (our coordinator) invited us to the hall for inaguration. we should shows our best performance in front of the students. of course i feel so nervous and we sings indonesia raya song together wkwk. did you know? rika has a good voice than the other. so that we sang a song and the president of university of northern philippines had given us the certificate. ayeeyyy.. mission complete:)
I love philippines teaching system. I feel comfortable when i stayed there. But sometimes i can’t find the spicy food there. Did you know? I feel not enough stayed in philippines only about one month. i don't know, i feel so comfortable when i stayed there. did you know? in my last teach with my students they gave me gift, they was crying known that i should be back to indonesian. they said that "I love ma'am cute" "u're my inspiration to be a teacher" aaaa.. im speechless :')
I love the students, i love my mentor,
they always taught me when i feel difficult about something. I taught 10 times,
in the last meeting they gave me a bucket of gift before i go back to
indonesian. I don’t know when i can meet them again. But, i love them so much J seeyou when
i seeyou...
